Rusty Stringfield: Born in San Franciscos Mission District, this high energy acoustic four piece have been spilling out of their corner pub and onto some of the finest stages in town. The Bay Area based Alt-Grass quartet features Russell Ives (Mandolin / Baritone / Erudition), Russell Simon (Double Bass / Tenor / Mischief}, Matt Lauer (Guitar / Bass / Comedy) and Ben Jacobs (Accordion / Beard). No song is safe once Rusty Stringfield gets fired up, on the street corner or round the campfire. Take a twisted trip from traditional bluegrass to soul, reggae, and arena rock (maybe all at once). Tight harmonies, tasty instrumentals -- and a side of accordion. Prepare thyself for a foot stompin, two steppin good time. Yee-Ha!

The Overextended: The Bay Area quartet is taking the sonic bull by the horns as they explore the boundaries of acoustic/electric groove music. The band features Russell Ives (Mandolin, Guitar, Vocals), Jen Rund (Bass, Vocals), Ben Jacobs (Keyboards) and Leslie Jackson (Percussion, Mandolin, Vocals). The bands unique musical relationship is influenced by their backgrounds in traditional, folk, ethnic, pop and alternative music with roots in the west coast festival scene where they first crossed musical paths at the Strawberry Music Festival in the late 90s. Their original compositions and tasty covers blend musical genres with enticing melodies and heart-felt vocals -- Americana/Roots music at its finest (and funnest).
