A Night of Guitar: Chris McDermott, R.D. King, Scott Card

Join three guitarists (Chris McDermott, R.D. King, Scott Card) for a wide-ranging night of extraordinary acoustic guitar. McDermott, King, and Card will perform solo as well as joining forces to create evocative, virtuosic music.

Chris McDermott is a very busy musician playing all over America, Europe, and the Caribbean for over 25 years. Possessing a truly unique rhythmic style he draws from what seems to be every available musical color in the palette. He is also one of the braver and energetic musicians you will ever experience live. Playing solo or surrounding himself with some of the best international musicians in the world, Chris lives for that real "in the moment" exchange with his audience. R.D. King is an award-winning composer and performer of instrumental acoustic guitar music, blending guitar pyrotechnics with cinematic and evocative music. A Candyrat Records artist, King is a TEDx Cambridge performer, winner of the 2017 Canadian Guitar Festivals International Fingerstyle Guitar Competition, and winner of the 2018 Walnut Valley Festival NewSong Showcase. There is a common truth in all music, and Scott Card is finding that thread. Combining the raw, visceral expressive power of jazz with the conceptual precision of classical music, along with the relatable idioms of folk and pop, Scott is finding his own musical voice that has been described by his audiences as incredible, intense, and the real thing.
