Sunday, September 22 Poco Farms, Ojai CA 9:00-1:30 pm Join author, wildlife tracker, and regenerative rancher Doniga Markegard and author and biomechanist Katy Bowman at Poco Farms for Wilderness Moves: Food and Farming Movements! This is a dynamic lecture, where participants and leaders will move and learn together. Discover all the ways that movement and food intertwine, and learn how moving more and moving better can help you nourish the earth as it nourishes you. Learn body adjustments that keep you gardening, walking, and gathering without pain; also learn some key elements of a regenerative food system and how you and your movement can be part of the climate solution (and no, everyone doesn't have to have a farm!). We'll spend our day on two beautiful adjoined farms in the center of town that host laying hens, a small goat dairy and a citrus orchard (Poco Farm) and two acres of certified organic vegetables (Steel Acres). Well also enjoy a farm-sourced lunch together and taste the fruits of others' movement. After lunch Doniga and Katy will answer questions and sign your books before saying goodbye. Participants should dress for the weather, and bring any snacks and water they'd like to have outside of the provided lunch.
