Cal Scott and Richard Moore welcome Boise, Idahos favorite (and Cals niece!) Rebecca Scott to the next Songwriter Circle at The Vault at Gastro Mania, formerly OConnors, Monday, August 5 at 7:00pm. This series is sponsored by Hearing Health of Raleigh Hills.
It can take while for word to get here from east of the desert, but heres what Boise Weekly has been saying about Rebecca Scott:
Over the years, we've used just about every adjective we can think of to describe Scott's voice: dulcet, sweet, smooth, melodious. If Boise had a soundtrack, it would be the euphonious voice and mellifluous melodies of Rebecca Scott. We're going to have to find some new descriptors for next year ... -Boise Weekly 2017
Best Local Musician: Rebecca Scott won Best Local Musician. In other news the sun came up today. We arent being glib- both are expected to happen and both are worth celebrating every time they do. Scotts name is a familiar one in this poll: For the six year Best Singer was a BOB (Best in Boise) category, Scott was voted No. 1 every year. To reiterate: Every. Year. That says something about how much her fans lover her, but it also speaks to her talent- and Scott is Talented with a capital T. Her bright, warm voice and skilled guitar playing are as strong and good as ever. -Boise Weekly 2018
Shes recorded three all-original studio albums. The first, Wave To The Elephants, received national attention when the song Diggin a Path was used in the soundtrack of "The Anatomy Of A Hate Crime: The Matthew Sheppard Story" as well as the television show "Good vs. Evil". Her second album, United, was acclaimed when Billboard Magazine named her one of six of the countrys top unsigned bands of 1999. The third release, The Game, was Rebecca's first self-produced endeavor, completed at Little House Recordings with Ben Burdick.
During her musical career, Rebecca has performed with Jonatha Brooke, Shawn Colvin, and with Dar Williams and other artists at Lilith Fair and other NW music festivals. The band has shared billing with Keb Mo, Cowboy Junkies, Dishwalla, Shelby Lynne, Curtis Stigers, Melissa Ferrick and Garrison Starr.
Tickets are $15 from rscottcircle.brownpapertickets.com or at the door. Once the show is sold out, a few tickets may be available at the door, at the discretion of the venue.
