2019 Quill Awards Gala
Missouri Writers Hall of Fame is pleased to recognize three exceptional authors at the Annual Quill Gala. Nancy Allen is the author of the Ozarks Mystery Series, including "Code of the Hills," "A Killing at the Creek," and "The Wages of Sin," all featuring fictional Ozarks prosecutor, Elsie Arnold.
Wayne Glenn is well known for his long-running radio show, Remember When. "The Old Record Collector" has also penned numerous books about the Ozarks and is considered by many to be an authority on the area.
Steve Yates grew up in Springfield. A Juniper Prize winner for his book "Some Kinds of Love: Stories" Yates also received a Knickerbocker prize for "Sandy and Wayne: a novella." His most recent novel, "The Legend of the Albino Farm," explores a local urban myth and the destruction it caused one Ozarks family.
Join us for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, meet these wonderful authors and help us celebrate their work and passion for the craft of writing.
Proceeds benefit the Writers Hall of Fame scholarship fund which provides scholarships for graduating high school seniors to help them pursue their writing interests in college.
