AIAOC Lunch Program-Sustainable Materials for the Bath

This presentation provides an overview of sustainable materials for the bath, including production, performance, maintenance, and frameworks for assessment; and focuses on recycled copper, sustainably made concrete, FSC-certified bamboo and reclaimed wood.
Learning Objectives:
DISCUSS the triple bottom line accounting framework as a method of measuring sustainable practices in terms of their economic, environmental, and social impact
DEFINE sustainable materials in terms of their durable, recycled, recyclable, rapidly renewable, reclaimed, and environmental and energy-efficient production process characteristics
NAME the sustainable aspects of recycled copper, sustainably made concrete, FSC-certified wood, bamboo, and reclaimed wood
DESCRIBE the production processes for recycled copper sinks, sustainably made concrete sinks, bamboo bath furniture, and reclaimed wood bath furniture
EXPLAIN the performance benefits and care of bath fixtures and furniture made of these materials.
