Jamie Nichole / Filtered by the Sky
About Jamie Nichole Martinsville, IN Singer/songwriter from Indiana.
A singer her whole life, a songwriter for the last 8 years. Jamie writes songs relatable to people everywhere. Her lyrics are simple, yet tell true detailed stories. Her voice although delicate, and pure, is polished and strong. Her previous EP called, The Attic Recordings' is available on itunes currently. She is also working on a new fully produced album in Nashville, TN at the Sound Emporium. She always wears a skeleton key necklace, and if you are able to come to a live show, you will be able to purchase one for yourself. All of the necklaces are unique and authentic. Jamie Nichole tours throughout the midwest, and has even graced the stages in Philly, New York, and Nashville. Critics will wildly agree that the very best way to experience Jamie Nichole's music is live.
Filtered by the Sky
Filtered by the Sky is a band that was created to challenge the listener with the changes in count and to experience new musicianship. Each note, rhythm, and word has a purpose, whether to bring things together or separate each part. Either way, the end result is the same--to simply elicit a feeling and to make people really pause and listen, and make a connection to the music.
Filtered by the Sky is made up of four individuals: Will has been playing guitar for 17 years, and also plays drums and does backup vocals. He's influenced by Incubus, Tool, and A Perfect Circle. He's been in music all his life--he plays in his father's band and was also in a band with TJ during his college years. Will's guitar skills are exemplary--they bring harmonies to the songs and pull all the instruments together.
Courtney has been in choir since grade school and is the main vocalist. She is influenced by A Perfect Circle and Florence + the Machine. This is her first experience in a band and although different than what she's used to, is enjoying the change of pace. Her vocals tell the story of each song, encouraging the audience to be a part of each one.
Ted has been playing bass for 11 years and is influenced by Rush, Alien Ant Farm, and Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers. Ted was in a band with TJ for six years before the birth of Filtered by the Sky. Ted's detailed and complicated riffs help drive the movement of the songs.
TJ has been playing cello for 20 years and also does lead/backup vocals. He's influenced by Dear Hunter and Tool. The founder of the band, TJ had a vision for the kind of music he wanted people to experience. His cello riffs are the soul of the band, meant to shape the melodies into emotion.
