Event
Constellation Half-Remembered, Burien - TRACE
Spread throughout multiple venues during June and July 2013, Constellation Half-Remembered is an interconnected performance series blending movement, sound, visual art, light and video installation to map how our past creates our present, as well as how our present rewrites our past, through the intimate lens of our own accumulated memories.
TRACE; the final installation in the Constellation series will take place at Parallel Public LAB (PPL) in Burien. Located in a basement space, PPL is sponsored by Parallel Public Works, a technology and design studio and is a non traditional exhibit space for "experimentation, collaboration, flashes of insight, glaring disjunctions, and creative ferment across boundaries..."
TRACE features sound by Amy Denio and Beth Fleenor, lighting by Amiya Brown with Dani Norberg, video by Kathryn Padberg, visual installation by Julia Hensley, and movement performance by Katie Arrants, Scott Davis, Johanna Hulick, Aiko Kinoshita, Aaron Swartzman and Belle Wolf. Inspired by each location, informed by what has come before and will follow after, each performance will be both recognizable and unique, like a memory retold differently each time.
Tickets: $12-$18 sliding scale. All proceeds go towards paying the artists. More info at http://umamiperformance.wordpress.com/
