Tantra: Creating Ritual, Intention and Connection
Have you been curious about Tantra?
The intent of this introduction is to create an understanding of Tantra using very clear language, examples, and practices.
We will guide you through the basics in this discussion and workshop: * What is the point of Tantra? * How do I practice Tantra as an individual? * How can one bring Tantra into partnership[s]? * How can I seek the divine in my beloved? * What resources are there in Portland, Oregon that one can engage to further their understanding of Tantra?
Date: Saturday, 20 July 2019 Time: 7-9pm Location: Lake Oswego, Oregon (Address provided after ticket purchase.)
All are welcome. We ask that you arrive with another person anywhere along the spectrum of friendly and/or romantic to facilitate comfort in this introductory practice. Gathering shall be limited to six (6) pairings of people, at the hosts discretion.
Participants should wear comfortable clothing, similar to what you might wear to a yoga class.
Interactions will be mild and a trusting container of safety will be created. Anyone not honoring this will be required to leave immediately.
About the Facilitators:
Fredrick focuses upon "Teaching the Art within Sexual Acts" as a sensual educator in Tantra + Kink. Being a sensual educator has allowed Fredrick to teach others how to engage and explore their passions in a way that is fun, loving, and safe both mentally and physically. Often one or more people in a partnership have a curiosity, that they have wanted to explore, but had not yet felt the permission do so such. Then with some guidance, he can see the glow in them as their worlds open up and are full of possibilities for the expression of their love together! Fredrick loves this, and it is the primary motivation that he has to teach more in the future.
Deborah Johanson, MSW, LCSW, with 22 years experience in private practice as a clinical social worker, specializes in intimacy and sex therapy. Her interest in Tantra began 15 years ago. She believes in the Tantric philosophy of "the other" as your Beloved. And that seeing the divinity in your other serves as a foundation for a strong relationship. In support of this, she values the role that rituals play in creating bonding and connection.
