5th Oak Bay New Music Festival
The Victoria Composers Collective, Oak Bay Music, and the Canadian Music Centre present the 5th annual Oak Bay New Music Festival, on July 13-14 2019!
This summers two-day festival offers an exciting mix of generations and cultural backgrounds, featuring chamber music by both local composers and underperformed works which deserve wider recognition!
Along with music by Galina Ustvolskaya, Maria Eduarda Mendes Martins, Sylvia Rickard, Décio Arapiraca, Linda Catlin Smith and more, the festival will also include a concert from visiting Dutch accordionist Erica Roozendaal, among other events (see below)
Saturday July 13 2:30PM new music coffee social hosted by composer & Victoria Symphony music librarian Christopher Reiche
Saturday July 13 7:00PM underperformed works by renowned composers: Rickard, Smith, Lutyens, Ustvolskaya and more
Sunday July 14 2:30PM 5th anniversary sound installation + miniatures concert featuring Erica Roozendaal and Victoria Composers Collective
Sunday July 14 7:00PM Erica Roozendaal accordion recital music by Aho, Roozendaal, Dutch folk melodies and local composers
Tickets will be available at the door, or online through Brown Paper Tickets from July 2nd.
