Berkeley Chamber Performances presents Aizuri Quartet
Based in New York City, the all-woman Aizuri Quartet has received several prestigious awards as well as a 2019 GRAMMY nomination for their debut album, Blueprinting. The Quartet draws its name from aizuri-e, a style of predominantly blue Japanese woodblock printing noted for vibrancy and intricate detail for which the quartets playing is also known.
They knew how to make individual points without commandeering the musical narrative. . . and it made for an evening of unusually stimulating, satisfying chamber music. Star Tribune
