We will explore the process of editing poems, focusing primarily on imagery and word choice. This session will also help expand your skills on approaching a topic through multiple angles, creating a prismatic effect. Please bring a poem you want to edit.

About the Instructor:
Yuki Jackson is an African-American and Japanese poet who has been featured in numerous readings and whose work has appeared in such publications as Foundry, Juked, Creative Pinellas and Entropy. She is the founder of The Battleground, an at-risk youth program in the Sulphur Springs neighborhood of Tampa, Florida. Yuki has taught English Composition at Hillsborough Community College, currently teaches for Keep St.Pete Lit and will begin teaching writing at Ringling College of Art and Design starting August 2019.
