The Wicked Okays and Alec Hutson
Alec Hutson will be joining forces with The Wicked Okays, a brand new indie folk-pop group out of Berklee College of Music to create a night of music that'll bring some East Coast flavor to the Portland stage. A Boston homegrown singer, songwriter, and multi instrumentalist, Alec Hutson crafts music that grabs your attention and pulls you in. He and his five piece band create a stirring combination of soaring folk melodies, deep soul grooves, and catchy pop sensibility, with influences including the Fleet Foxes, Lake Street Dive, Andrew Bird and Grizzly Bear. The result is an experience not easily forgotten.
Calder Wiggers and Una McStay grew up in Portland and even attended the same middle school, but it wasnt until they moved 2,000+ miles across the country to Boston that they finally started playing music together. Now they are Rose City transplants living in Beantown where they attend Berklee College of Music. They are joined by singer-songwriter Nora Meier, an incoming Berklee freshman, to form The Wicked Okays. Their material combines the individual songwriting and musical styles of all three members to create a fresh blend of folk, pop and indie.
