Midnight Burn Sheds New Light on Fire Performance "Enchantment awaits you as supernatural characters take you on a journey through the cosmos in search of the heart of mystery."
Didn't get a ticket to Burning Man? Get a taste of Playa-esque high style circus and fire performance art at The 418 Project on Saturday, August 17.
Midnight Burn is a full evening-- featuring mystical black light Circus Theater followed by a fun dance party intermission and capped off with a midnight fire performance. Attendees can relax with a beer and enjoy costume and toy vendors outdoors throughout the night.
Prime performances from some of Santa Cruz's most gifted fire performers, Lux Natura and the Santa Cruz Fire Conclave, will include Aerial, Dub Fusion Belly Dance, Hooping, Fire Spinning, and a LED performance.
Lux Natura, the visionary multi-media performance troupe, opens the night by drawing the audience into the light of nature with weaving of projections and fine art circus performances.
The midnight ritual fire performance will include local fire performers and the Santa Cruz Fire Conclave. The Santa Cruz Fire Conclave, a professionally produced and choreographed fire troupe, has performed at Burning Man for over 10 years and will be the featured outdoor performers.
"Last year was a magical collaboration of local visual and performance artists. Dance to me is a visual artand this show was a great example of the gallery of eclectic artists in Santa Cruz and the surrounding area." -Corinne Marston, Lux Natura performer and Midnight Burn producer.
Midnight Burn sold out last year, so tickets should be purchased ahead of time.
