Glen David at Right Turn to Benefit Right Turn Nola!
Kerwin James, brother of Phil and Keith Frazier of the ReBirth Brass Band, was a popular Sousaphone player in New Orleans. He played for years in the New Birth Brass Band, and many other Nola bands. James' merry bass brass beats provided the underpinning for the ambulatory joys of New Birth's spirited take on the floating party at the center of that city's music culture.
James suffered a severe stroke in 2006 that left him incapacitated, and his passing was a result of complications from the stroke. In his honor, Glen David Andrews is starting a foundation that will help fund care for other New Orleans musicians at Right Turn, where he began his recovery, one year ago.
