Finding Strength in Vulnerability - with Jonathan Pitts
Openness on stage is a choice, a powerful choice that make any scene more grounded, intuitive and vital.
In this workshop, the improv students will engage in three differenttheatre exercises designed to develop and heighten their artistic and scenic openness.
After the completion of these three exercises, the improvisers will improvise a 2 person scene with their heightened awareness of the strength of choosing to be open.
Jonathan Pitts is an award winning international theatre artist from Chicago. Hes a creator, director, improviser, performer, producer, and teacher. He co-founded the Chicago Improv Festival and produced it for 20 years.
Jonathan also created and produced the College Improv Tournament for 10 years, and created and produced the Chicago Podcast Festival for the last 2 years.
He taught improv at The Second City for 16 years and hes a contributing writer to The Second Citys book on improvisation.
For 3 consecutive years he was selected by New City magazine as one of Chicagos Top 50 Theatre Players. Hes performed in over 1,200 improvised shows.
