Queer Songbook Orchestra in Saskatoon
Toronto based 12-piece chamber pop ensemble the Queer Songbook Orchestra (QSO) are set to make their Saskatoon debut on August 8, 2019, at the Black Cat Tavern.
Dedicated to exploring and uplifting 2SLGBTQ narrative through both a historical and contemporary context, the QSO have been mining the last century of popular music and bringing intimate moments of truth and vulnerability to stages all across Canada since 2014. A highly collaborative project, the QSO have worked with nearly 200 individuals throughout Canada to bring these pairings of story and song to the stage. From arrangers to guest singers, storytellers and narrators and elders to high school students, the QSO aim to reflect the beauty and depth of the queer community, alongside the songs most deeply connected to 2SLGBTQ experience.
Every QSO show is a memorable one, and this very first appearance in Saskatoon will be no different. Not to miss!
