6 Playwrights. 6 Directors. 18 Actors
...giving raw impressions of poems and photographs about Detroit

The Obie Award winning Harlem9 in collaboration with Detroit Public Theatre presents the 1st annual 48HOURS IN... ™ DETROIT - a twist on the traditional 24-hour play festival.

This event marks the first collaboration between the two organizations, Harlem9 and Detroit Public Theatre, supported by the Knight Arts Challenge, an initiative of the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.

48HOURS IN... ™ DETROIT brings together 6 playwrights, 6 directors, and 18 actors.  Playwrights will tell their Detroit story by re-imagining six 10-minute raw impressions of 6 poems and photos by Detroit natives and local artists and poets over the course of one weekend.

48HOURS IN...™ DETROIT culminates in a one night only event with TWO performances at Wayne State University's Department of Theater and Dance, Maggie Allesee Studio Theater
