Uilleann Pipes Concert featuring Mick O'Brien, Tom Creegan, and Preston Howard-Wilde
Doors open at 7:00, concert at 7:30.
Cascadia Irish Music Week presents an evening of Irish traditional music played on the uilleann pipes, featuring Mick O'Brien, Tom Creegan, and Preston Howard-Wilde.
Mick O'Brien, of Dublin, is a highly regarded performer and teacher of uilleann pipes who has toured with The Dubliners, The Boys of the Lough, and Altan, among others. He conducts master classes in Europe, Canada, and the United States. We are honored to have him teaching at Cascadia Irish Music Week this summer.
Tom Creegan is widely regarded as one of the foremost uilleann pipers in North America. He grew up in Dublin and played extensively in Europe and Canada before settling in Seattle, where he founded and performed with the Suffering Gaels. Tom now plays with fiddler Dale Russ in the band Crumac, and teaches the pipes and tinwhistle.
Preston Howard-Wilde performs and teaches the uilleann pipes in Portland, OR and plays in the Irish traditional music group Na Rosai. This is Preston's second appearance at Cascadia Irish Music Week.
Many thanks for the generous support of The Seattle Irish Heritage Club and The Consulate General of Ireland.
