In celebration of Stonewall 50, Pangea Pride presents a first-ever screening of the video Sodomite Warriors, first created and performed in 1989 by Chazz Dean and Kurt Fulton, then members of the performance collective Watchface. In addition to the video, the two performers will premiere live material reflecting changes over the past 30 years. Vocal stylist Iris Rose, also a past member of Watchface, opens the show with an appropriate selection of songs for the occasion.

Chazz Dean created and performed Sodomite Warriors with Kurt Fulton in 1990-91 as members of Watchface. Chazz now lives in the Catskills and runs a design business, GatlinDean.com, with his husband Daniel Gatlin.

Kurt Fulton worked with Watchface as a creator and performer from their first production in 1983 through their last in 1991 (see more at watchface.nyc). In the 1970's and 80's, he performed as a singer and dancer in a wide variety of professional productions.

Iris Rose regularly performs at Pangea and is currently working on a show of songs written for television, called Box of Gems.

"Offering bursts of compassion and black humor, Sodomite Warriors is a cultural study of gay American life." Jay Blotcher, Outweek, 1990

"Funny and tough and touching, extremely well paced and well performed." Deborah Jowitt, Village Voice, 1991

"An exuberant show." Jack Anderson, New York Times, 1991

Downtown's intimate supper-club Pangea is the ultimate in alt, playing home to some of the best in alt cabaret. The New York Times recently called it a bohemian oasis not unlike the fabled Maxs Kansas City from days gone by."
