Carioca, pianist, flutist and composer Marcos Ariel stops in Pittsburgh on the tour of his new EP, "Soul Carioca!" His musical style is pure Carioca (one who is a native of Rio de Janeiro), splashed with a passion for classical and jazz, bringing a delicious flavor and fresh sound to the States!
Since the '70s, Marcos Ariel has dedicated himself to Brazilian instrumental music and jazz, reaching international status. He has attributed his February birth during the Carnival in Rio de Janeiro as the formation of his typical Carioca soul and his musical style. Playing to these Brazilian roots, Marcos Ariel had the idea to produce and record his thirtieth album, the EP Soul Carioca.
The songs were composed and matured throughout his many concerts in Rio de Janeiro at Rio Scenarium in Lapa, and Vinicius Show Bar in Ipanema, in addition the shows he regularly performs in the USA, creating a unique and authorial project. As a player he is swift and precise, transcending genuine warmth that can only be Marcos Ariel.
This private house concert will also feature a "meet & greet" with the artist and light snacks, B.Y.O.B.
