Artist's Book Tours Summer 2019
Learn through demonstration and conversation about the current exhibition of Artist's Books in the Sherry Grover Gallery.
The event runs 11 AM-12 PM. Please arrive with enough time to wash your hands before taking your seat. Books will be passed around for participants to explore.
Space is limited to only 15 people per date. Please limit your reservations to one of the dates to ensure other can attend. Reservations are required.

July 6 - Cynthia Sears, BIMA Founder
July 27- Jules Remedios Faye has lived and worked in the Skagit Valley for over 25 years. She is a letterpress printmaker, bookbinder, teacher, and creator of artists books, and is the proprietor of Stern & Faye Printers, a letterpress print shop and hand bookbindery located in Mt Vernon, WA. She has taught book arts courses throughout the Pacific Northwest including Cornish College of Arts, Western Washington University, and the School of Visual Concepts. Her art is often inspired or informed by interspiritual contemplative and mindfulness practices.
August 3 - Cynthia Sears, BIMA Founder
August 10 - Jessica Spring, Proprietor of Springtide Press, started setting cold type on a Compugraphic Editwriter 7300 phototypesetting machine (a huge console with a big green screen) in 1982 as an undergraduate English major, beginning a lifelong interest in typography. She learned to set real metal type in 1989 and has been a letterpress printer ever since, even inventing Daredevil Furniture for the composition of metal type in circles, curves and angles. Her work at Springtide Pressartist books, broadsides and ephemerais included in collections around the country and abroad.
