The Orphan Brigade is a community of leading artists and musicians based in Nashville, including the extraordinary vocal talents of Northern Ireland's Ben Glover.
The Orphan Brigade was founded by BEN GLOVER (UK Album of the Year winner 2019 (UK Americanafest)), Grammy nominee producer/musician NEILSON HUBBARD and mandolin maestro JOSHUA BRITT.
The group's first album, Soundtrack To A Ghost Story, was written, recorded and filmed in a haunted, Civil War house in Kentucky.
Originally they assumed this was a one-off project but after touring Italy in 2016 this side project evolved into a solid band. In 2017 they spent time in 2500-year-old-caves in the Italian city of Osimo, writing and recording Heart Of The Cave.
No Depression called it "an extraordinary album in which the songs explored themes of mysticism and personal transformation"
The Orphan Brigade will strengthen their Irish connection in 2019 as their upcoming album - released 26 Sept 2019 - will be heavily influenced by the rich folklore of County Antrim, the home area of its member Ben Glover.
The new album - To The Edge of the World - was recorded on the atmospheric wild west coast of Northern Ireland and is already picking up glorious reviews: "To the Edge of the World permeates every pore as would an Irish drizzle. Once again The Orphan Brigade have excelled in blending storytelling tradition with a contemporary vibe." NO DEPRESSION
"their unusual creative approach has worked wonders... loping rhythms... a Celtic tinge to a twangsome guitar... a veritable Giants Causeway of music, lyrics and atmosphere." FOLK RADIO
AMERICAN ROOTS UK described the Orphan Brigade as: "...tugging at the heartstrings... often uplifting, includes gorgeous melodies, great vocals and playing, brilliant arrangements and atmospheres that flow between deep, dark and spooky, as well as eerie and haunting with occasional flashes of light..."
