Exchange of Prisoners
White Cat Productions presents "Exchange of Prisoners," a tale set in 1917 about a young German soldier with a gift for storytelling, who visits home on a 5-day furlough. But when his desire for a little R&R clashes with his sister's war-mongering and his mother's need for order, domestic tranquility turns to upheaval -- and time is short for a family reconciliation.
Based on a true case anecdote by 20th-century sex-psychologist Magnus Hirschfeld, "Exchange of Prisoners" recaptures another era. Don't miss your chance to see an experiment with language, and to discover the secrets of a healed soldier's invisible wounds!
"Exchange of Prisoners" is written by Roxanne Ray, directed by Lauren Appel, and features Craig Anders, Therese Henning, Eric Inman, and Karen Milling, as well as the design talents of Jeannine Clarke, Corrine Davis, Jason Simms, and Steven Studer, with Set Construction by Katie Boyd, Kristina Lockard, Reed Nakayama, and Peter Sawicki -- plus Ann Marie Caldwell as Stage Manager, Dana Boggs as Dialect Coach, and Katie Boyd as House Manager.
Please join us for this exploration of gender, ethics, and the complexities of war on Germany's World War I homefront.
