Independent Theater Co. is proud to present Ntozake Shange's 'For Colored Girls who have Considered Suicide when the Rainbow is enuf', directed by Britteny Henry. Cast: Taleesha Caturah, AKeisha Lee, Chanel Quilling, Yeshica Stimage, Chrissie Watkins & Sierra K. Smith
"...'For Colored Girls' is a series of 20 poems, collectively called a "choreopoem." Shange's poetry expresses many struggles and obstacles that African-American women may face throughout their lives and is a representation of sisterhood and coming of age as an African-American woman. The choreopoem is performed by a cast of seven nameless women only identified by the colors they are assigned. They are the lady in red, lady in orange, lady in yellow, lady in green, lady in blue, lady in brown, and lady in purple. They tackle subjects from rape, abandonment, to abortion, and domestic violence..."

**The Theatre Guild of Webster Groves is a very old building, historic in fact, but because of this we are not wheelchair or handicap accessible. The Guild has a total of 31 steps. Limited parking is available in front of the building, and parking is available on surrounding streets.
