Measure for Measure is one of Shakespeares most remarkable plays. It is dark and disturbing, and characters have very difficult choices to make. The Duke leaves town, leaving Angelo in charge, a man seemingly upright and moral, until he confronts a young nun, Isabel. Her brother is going to be executed for fornication with his beloved (and very pregnant) fiancée. There is one way that Isabel can save her brother, but at the cost of her soul.
