3-Part Watercolor Painting Series

All levels - Ages 16+

Class 1, July 1: Beginner Basics, Seascapes, Fireworks

Class 2, July 8: July 4th Fireworks, continued

Class 3, July 15: Landscapes, focusing on composition and washes

This class will introduce attendees to the basics skills of watercolor and help them enjoy the process of creative experimentation. Students will learn to use the technique of washes by changing colors into pools of water, manage spontaneity with control, and learn how to create variations of a landscape theme. This will help build a repertoire of skills and when to use them and have fun doing so!

A supply list will be emailed to attendees prior to the first class, or starter kits can be purchased in person.

$45 per class drop-in fee ($40 for Friends of SAC) will be offered after July 1, subject to availability, and in-person only on July 1, pending available space.

Lois Benders watercolors explore the themes of nature, gardens and landscapes at various sites in The Hamptons, Paris and the Metro New York area She taught throughout the Hamptons for 15 years at the venues Bridge Gardens, Wolffers, Madoo, Sag Harbor Florist, LongHouse Reserve, Guild Hall, Gurneys and in New York. She is an Adjunct Art Professor at Essex County College in Newark, NJ. She loves to introduce watercolor to newcomers to show them techniques that make watercolor a very forgiving medium.
