The Black Cedar Trio's accolades include multiple grants from both the Zellerbach Family Foundation and InterMusic SF, plus an invite to the National Flute Association Convention. Their 2016 debut album, "A Path Less Trod" has earned critical praise, with Stephen Smoliars The Rehearsal Studio blog writing, "While the instrumentation is unconventional, it is surprisingly effective."
Since their formation in 2013, the trio has performed approximately 75 concerts throughout California, and they've appeared repeatedly on KALW 91.7 FM in San Francisco, KKUP 91.5 FM in San Jose, and KWMR 90.5 FM in Marin County. "Black Cedar has done a wonderful job of making the case that chamber music can involve approaches to instrumentation not usually expected," says the San Francisco Examiner.
Flutist, Kris Palmer is a first prize winner in the Carmel Chamber Music Society Competition, a second prize winner in the NFA Young Artist Competition, and a Carnegie Hall Recital Debut winner with Artists International.
Cellist, Isaac Pastor-Chermak is Principal Cellist of Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony and Lake Tahoe Music Festival, Associate Principal Cellist of Stockton Symphony, and Assistant Principal Cellist of Opera San Jose and Eisenstadt Classical Music Festival.

Alison Lee is a first prize winner in the Thursday Musicals Scholarship Competition, the Dorothy Van Waynen Piano Competition, the Pacific Musical Society Competition, and the Coeur dAlene Symphony Orchestra National Young Artists Competition. She also earned second prize in the Midwest International Piano Competition in 2016.
