Fran Belkin "Rock This Town!" Q&A + Book Signing
Take a look behind the curtain at what it was like producing and promoting some of the biggest names in music. Fran Belkin spent over 30 years in the music business collecting stories, swag and knowledge as a part of the well-known promotion company Belkin Productions. Belkin took those memories and wove together a history of the music and the times in her recent book, "Rock This Town!" Third Man Records will host a book signing and Q & A session with Beklin and her husband, Belkin Productions co-founder, Jules. The evening, moderated by music journalist Gary Graff, is open to the public starting at 5:30pm, discussion begins at 6pm.
Third Man Records has also curated an up close look at several items from Belkins personal collection of photos and t-shirts - swag custom created just for the bands - which will be on exhibit prior to the event. Fran Belkin's collection of t-shirts wound up in boxes in the attic, until one day she realized these mementos could illustrate the incredible story of a most unusual family business: Belkin Productions.
The Palace of Auburn Hills, the Silverdome, Joe Louis Arena and Cobo Hall all hosted Belkin shows and makes this book resonate with fans in Detroit.
Books will be available for purchase at this event.
