Olympic Tavern Beefsteak 2019
Join us for our third annual Beefsteak Banquet on Wednesday June 26th.
What's a Beefsteak, you ask?
"It's described a feast of epic proportions known simply as a Beefsteak. A rite of gluttony that waged war on the livers of politicians and gangsters alike, the Beefsteak thrived in the saloons and political halls of the 19th and early 20th centuries. The menu was always the same sliced steak served on toast, au jus or gravy, and all the beer you could drink*. Knives, forks, plates and napkins were forbidden. The life of the party was the guest who let out the most appreciative grunts, drank the most beer, and consumed the most steak. Sadly, the practice died out after World War II."
Sounds like a great idea, so we're bringing it back. All-you-can-eat tenderloin/filet mignon, with some other beef, pork, sausage, and other meat-based options (sorry vegetarians). Every Beefsteak'er will take home a custom apron too! This is a ticketed event -- no sales at the door please. Also, attendees must be 21 or older.
And unfortunately, "all you can drink" is illegal in Illinois, so all tickets will include: three cocktails featuring Few Bourbon, Mezcal Vago, and Brenne Malt Whiskey.
