ABOUT MISS SMITH

Born and raised in Wichita Falls, Texas, Stephanie Lynne Smith holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance Degree (1998) from University of Colorado at Boulder and a Master of Music in Chamber Music Performance Degree (2001) from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Somewhere along the way to becoming a concert pianist, she fell in love with singers and the theater, and discovered her passion for promoting composers and new compositions. She served as Artistic Director and Conductor for the Lesbian/Gay Chorus of San Francisco, commissioning an opera, a musical and countless works for chorus, was Cantor and Worship Designer for Grace Cathedral in San Francisco, and toured with Bugs Bunny at the Symphony as pianist/slide guitarist, performing with the New York Philharmonic in Avery Fisher Hall, the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl, and the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra at Davies Symphony Hall. Stephanie now tours as concert pianist for Broadway headliner Franc DAmbrosio (Phantom of the Opera/Godfather III), produces Miss Smith master classes and performances, and works tirelessly to promote new works.

ABOUT MISS SMITH PRESENTS
"I want to teach people the way I wasn't taught. There were nuggets of wisdom from each of my teachers but the competitions and public performances caused me to become disconnected from my passions. Performing became a chore and practicing, impossible. As I have moved through various phases in my craft, I have noticed a common issue: Performance anxiety. I seek to undo damaging performance experiences." - Stephanie Lynne Smith
