GREG BOARDMAN AND FRIENDS TO OPEN SUMMER SERIES AT READFIELD UNION MEETING HOUSE
On June 4th at 7PM, Greg Boardman, Steve Muise, and Elsie Gawler will light up the Readfield Union Meeting House stage with their energetic playing of folk and country music. It will be the first of many Tuesday entertainment offerings for the Meeting House this summer.
Boardman, who sings and plays viola, cello and guitar, as well as fiddle, performs traditional and original music of the Northeast. Greg is the founder of Maine Fiddle Camp in Belgrade and has been a major inspiration for many fiddlers over the last three and a half decades throughout all of Maine. He will be joined June 4th by Steve Muise and Elsie Gawler.
Muise, from Farmington, plays with the Franklin County Fiddlers, with his speciality being French-Canadian folk music. He is also a key performer with the Merry Plinksters, a quirky ukelele group.
Gawler, having grown up in the musical Gawler Family of Belgrade, plays cello and sings traditional folk music, and has performed both in the US and internationally.
The Readfield Union Meeting House is located at 22 Church Rd. (Readfield 04355). All profits from this event will go towards ongoing restoration of this building on the National Registry of Historic Places. For more information, please call 207-685-4662 or 685-4481.
