Did Run-DMC's cover of Walk This Way really change our culture?

Join us as Washington Post's Geoff Edgers discusses why and shares rare footage of the March, 1986 recording session that brought Aerosmith's Steven Tyler and Joe Perry together with rap's first supergroup. He and local Chicago rapper, Chore Boy, will dispel the myths surrounding the song and reveal how Edgers managed to speak with such figures as L.L. Cool J, Rick Rubin, Steven Tyler, Rev. Run, Joe Perry, and the Devastating Mic Controller, Darryl DMC McDaniels.

About Geoff Edgers:

Geoff Edgers is a journalist and author. He is the national arts reporter for The Washington Post, hosts the Edge of Fame podcast, and his work has appeared in GQ, Spin, and The Boston Globe, among others. He also produced and starred in the 2010 documentary Do It Again, and he is the author of multiple childrens books about The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Stan Lee, and Julia Child. He lives in Concord, MA. with his family.

About Chore Boy and, Producer, Brad Kemp:

Chore Boy & Brad Kemp are a rapper/producer pair, whose new album Stories You Can Tell Yourself releases June 10 on all streaming platforms. Years of collaboration and shared growth have led the duo to their current state of prowess, where Chores acerbic lyrical stylings are complemented expertly by Kemps theatrical, rich production. While prior projects have found Chores and Kemp flexing a wide array of sounds and styles, Stories is a product of patience; sonically refined & targeted in its aim - to challenge ways of thinking you probably don't think to think about.
