Junco
Hailing from the hills of the Mt. Washington Valley, Junco performs an original blend of rock, folk, and funk. The band is comprised of Anthony Branca (bass), Jeremy Holden (lead guitar), Alex Ouellette (drums), Bobby Sheehan (lead vocals, guitar), and Dan Stackhouse (woodwinds).
Toward the end of his high school years at Fryeburg Academy, Bobby had written a handful of songs and decided it was time to invite other musicians to contribute to his ideas. Sheehan found this help in friends Dan Stackhouse and Jeremy Holden. Although Junco wasnt officially founded for another few years, these early collaborations laid the foundation for the soon-to-be band and set its creation in motion. Alex eventually joined Junco in 2013, followed by Anthony in 2016.
Since their inception, Junco has released an EP, Waking the Sleeping Giant in 2015 and an LP, The Night the Lake Stood Still in 2017. The band is currently working on their third album, set for release in 2019. Junco continues to perform at arts centers, festivals, clubs, and breweries across northern New England. They are a one-time winner and two-time finalist of the annual 93.5 WMWV Local Song of the Year Contest, and they have been repeat musical guests on the Cold River Radio Show and WCSH6s television program, 207.
While channeling the sounds of the Dave Matthews Band, Paul Simon, and the Grateful Dead, Juncos high-energy shows, upbeat themes, and improvisational approach add up to a feel-good, stimulating, and ever-evolving style of music. Learn more at www.juncoband.com.
