Have you ever wanted to go on a ghost hunt? Well, now you can experience them on this up-close-and-personal tour that takes you where others wont. Graveyards are endearing pockets of the Central Coast. We love them theyre full of history, intrigue, and tales of love and loss.
In a compact walk through the oldest section of the Odd Fellows Cemetery (today: San Luis Cemetery), a master local storyteller will help you meet some of the famous pioneer movers and shakers of the Central Coast community. Each has a story that contributes to the heritage of city as well as the central coast. Scattered throughout the tour will be stories about a judge, an entrepreneur, the founder of Cal Poly, a murder victim, leading socialites, a famous poet and business women among others who have promised to attend.
City Historian for San Luis Obispo, Joseph A. Carotenuti continues to research and write about local history published monthly in the Central Coast Journal magazine. His most recent project involves the Centennial of the County Library including a history of both the County and City Libraries, individual branch histories and biographies of the pioneer librarians. A frequent guest on Dave Congaltons Home Town Radio, his webpage (www.joefromslo.com) provides an extensive history of San Luis Obispo and many of its earliest pioneers. His most recent LLCC program involved the iconic Dorn Pyramid.
