Jeremy Lawrence: Lavender Songs, A Queer Weimar Berlin Cabaret
The show is part of the Pangea Pride festival which runs from June 10th through June 30th.

Tante Fritzi says it loud and queer in this sexy, subversive evening of songs written or performed by Jewish and gay cabaret artists of the era.

No one is spared when Tante Fritzi takes the stage inviting the audience into her edgy, gender-bender, sexy world.. The invincible  Fritzi has had quite a life and it has given her the strength to splay and slaughter: homophobia, misogyny anti-semitism and an ex-lover or three. The show is a chilling evocation of the subversive world of Berlin's cabarets and a celebration of the daring of its Jewish and queer artists who continued to mock and deride the ever-lengthening shadow of fascism for as long as they could.

Jeremy Lawrence (performer/author) is an actor, playwright and lyricist. He has been working with the works of Berlin Cabaret  for over twenty years. His lyrics for these songs have been recorded by numerous artists. most notably the Ute Lemper CD Berin Cabaret Songs. He has received international acclaim for his one-man Tennessee Williams shows jeremylawrence.net

Ariela Bohrod (accompanist) just received her masters from  Mannes College New School of Music.

Jason Jacobs (Director) is also a  playwright . He was named a  NYTheatre.com Person of the Year  He is a Member of Lincoln Center Theatre Directors Lab, and a Teaching Artist with the Roundabout Theatre.
