Peer Support Specialists (PSS)are people living in recovery with mental illness and /or substance use disorder who, provides support to other who can benefit from their lived experiences. Cardinal Innovations' Peer Support Specialist Training is a 40 hour training that satisfies the training requirements needed to apply to become a NC Certified Peer Support Specialist. Delivered by trainers with lived experience through engaged teachings and activities, this training is based on the recovery philosophy, teaching peers how to support other peers either as volunteers or a paid employee. Certification is required to become a paid PSS.
Training will begin Monday June 3, 2019 through June 7, 2019 from 8:30am - 5:00pm. Participants must attend every class to receive certification.
