Not-So-Simple "small is beautiful" Gathering
You are especially invited to purchase a ticket for a Weekend of Hands-on Workshops and Demonstrations Celebrating Rural Living and Homesteading Skills at the Not-So-Simple Small is Beautiful Gathering July 26-28th 2019! Beekeeping, Farming and Gardening, Fermentation and Dairy Culturing, Food Storage and Preservation, Hunting and Gathering, Blacksmithing, Seedsaving, Composting, Natural Building, Animal Husbandry, Wild Foods and Medicines,  and more!

This year were trying on something new: a slightly smaller, more intimate, and more land-based event. We're excited to partner with our friends at Groundswell Community and Retreat Center just south of Boonville.  Groundswell is a lovely space and implements many of the living skills that are the foundation of our event. The land has rustic cabins and tent camping with plenty of areas for teaching scattered throughout the woods. All around a central kitchen, dining hall, and campfire. Plus, there is access to Rancheria Creek and staff to provide locally sourced meals.

The theme this year: E.F. Schumacher's Small is Beautiful Theory of Economics advocates for appropriate technologies as if people and the planet mattered.  This concept blends with the Not So Simple message because our workshop presenters teach appropriate technologies promoting self reliance and regenerative rural living skills.  Jim Tarbell, an early advocate of Building the Economy for Our Common Good in Mendocino County will give the keynote. He and dozens of workshop participants have spent the past two years putting together the Map of the Economy for the Common Good. He will speak about the vision and purpose of the map and how participants in the Not So Simple Living Workshops can all be part of it.

Children Five and under are free.
