Public schools in the greater Long Beach area have been incorporating innovative education programs for youth, while cities across the country have implemented food procurement programs that help cafeteria's to nourish children with fresh, local food.

In this interactive event, attendees will tour an incredible school garden, and get hands-on experience with the most cutting edge food education that locals receive from organizations like Ground Education. Attendees will also learn how a Good Food Purchasing Program could create a more socially and environmentally just food system for youth who rely on school food.

There's a minimal fee for adult admission to support Long Beach Fresh's school food policy campaign, and children of all ages are invited to attend for free. Contact us if you cannot afford the fee, but would like to attend.
