Peter Case in concert
The Red Dragon is thrilled to announce the return of the great PETER CASE. Our show will be a solo concert on Sunday, Nov 24 at 7pm. Let me tell you a little about Peter:
Peter Case started his professional music career with the punk band "The Nerves" in the late 70's. The band opened for the Ramones & Mink DeVille and split bills with The Nuns (Alejandro Escovedo) and Devo.
In 1979 Case formed The Plimsouls, a massively successful live band in L.A.. Their success lead to a deal with Geffen Records and three songs in the movie "Valley Girl".
In 1986 Peter Case went solo with an album produced by T-Bone Burnett. Songs on the album were co-written by then wife Victoria Williams. The album included Case's friends Mike Campbell (Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers) and Dragon friend Gurf Morlix. One of the songs even garnered a GRAMMY NOMINATION.
A second Geffen album featured the help of Ry Cooper, Benmont Tench & David Hidalgo.
Since then, Case has done humorous solo albums and tours. He has also reunited several times with the Plimsouls. In 2002 he garnered a second GRAMMY NOMINATION.
"A Case for Case", a three disc tribute album came out in 2006. It features Case songs performed by artists including John Prine, Joe Ely, Susan Cowsill, Dave Alvin & Maura O'Conner. A third GRAMMY NOMINATION followed in 2007.
