New Forum Inaugural Launch, Reading and Celebration!

Loft 112 is launching a new magazine called New Forum, which is a revival of Forum, a grassroots feminist magazine published from 1988 to 2002 by the Calgary Womens Writing Project.

Forum was a grassroots feminist magazine published from 1988 to 2002 by the Calgary Women's Writing Project. It promoted issues of interest to women while providing an opportunity for women to develop writing and other communication skills. It tackled several topics that affected (and continue to affect) women, and published art, short stories, poems, creative non-fiction and Q&As with writers, researchers and activists.

Our first issue of New Forum is an ode and response to the original Forum, with new short stories, poetry and non-fiction inspired by the ideas, issues and themes from the original. Our issue has contributions from pioneering Calgary writers and other writers active in the community.

Join us as we launch New Forum with an introduction by original Forum co-founder Vivian Hansen, New Forum Editor Silvia Pikal and readings and reflection by:
