Lakewood Founders walking tour at Lakewood Cemetery
Summer evenings are a wonderful time to stroll through Lakewood and take in its beautiful gardens, spacious grounds and long vistas -- all while learning a bit of local history.
On this tour, you will hear the stories of early Minneapolis leaders who helped build the city of Minneapolis and its grand cemetery, Lakewood. Featuring Minneapolis' first mayor Dorilus Morrison, Senator and businessman William D. Washburn, Park Board president Charles Loring, and many more.
Tickets cost $5 in advance, $10 at the door.
Details for that day - The tour will depart from in front of the Chapel. Parking is available along the road near the building. - Be prepared to walk about a mile across both paved roads and uneven ground. Wear comfortable walking shoes. - We will plan to walk in light rain (bring your umbrella), but the tour will be cancelled in the event of serious weather (we will notify you by email).
Please note: We are sorry, this tour is not wheelchair accessible. Please see our other upcoming events at lakewoodcemetery.org for wheelchair accessible options.
