Nocturnal Emissions: The Masque of the Red Death
Thu Dec 12: 7.30pm
Roger Corman US & UK 1964 1h 26m Series - Nocturnal Emissions
At the Nocturnal Emissions mansion, our favorite holiday tradition is summed up in two words Vincent Price! The original Merchant of Menace offers up one of his most villainous performances as Prince Prospero, a Satan-worshiping nobleman holding a bacchanal inside the safety of his castle walls while the citizens outside are being struck down by a creeping plague known as the Red Death. Perhaps the most visually stunning and audacious of Roger Cormans Edgar Allan Poe adaptations, this dark masterpiece features occult ceremonies, a vengeful dwarf, and some cathartic come-uppance for the ultra-rich.
Hosted by Isabella Price, whose very name is in honor of the iconic actor, this holiday celebration will also feature a video tribute to the career of Vincent Price, a pantomime competition inspired by the movie, some light Satan worship, and burlesque from our special guest Val Challah! For additional holiday cheer, Emmett Montgomery's holiday alter-ego Sugarplum Gary will be in attendance.
