On the Road Tour - Summertime Hops, Rhodies & Roses
We start our June summer day with a fascinating guided tour of the Oregon Hop House. The farm has been in the Leavy family since 1912 and hops have been grown there since the 1920s. In 2007, the Farm began organic hop production and The Oregon Hop House became the first certified organic hop farming enterprise!
We take our appetite to Langdon Farms Grill for indoor or covered outdoor dining. Our first garden visit in the afternoon is Van Veens Nursery.
They are the oldest niche propagation nursery for rhododendrons in the country and boast a wise array of rate species and hybrids. There is also a large selection of evergreen and deciduous azaleas.
We wrap up our afternoon with an inspiring & colorful guided tour of The Portland Nursery, featuring a presentation on everything roses. Portland Nursery is the sole carrier of this years Rose Festival Rose Sun Shower!
Sturdy shoes for Van Neems Nursery. Shopping is available at the afternoon stops. Bring carry bags. Lunch will be available indoors and outdoors. Outdoors will be covered.
Cost: $35.
Lunch: On your own at Langdon Farm Grill. Tues., June 11, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
