Feather Tree Class at Landis Valley

In this class, you will learn how to make a traditional German feather tree. The art of feather tree making started in Germany in the mid 1800's. Each branch of the tree is wrapped with goose feathers to create a lovely Christmas tree that will last for generations. This is the perfect opportunity to make a family heirloom. Each student will take home a beautiful 18" feather tree at the end of the class.

All materials included. Bring a lunch and your own scissors.

Patti has been caning and weaving seats since the 1980's. She learned the art of caning and seat weaving from her mother. Patti regularly demonstrates caning, seat weaving at various venues, including Landis Valley, Fort Hunter, and the York Fair. She belongs to the Seatweavers' Guild.

Cancellation Policy: All materials must be pre-purchased by the instructor; therefore, cancellations can only be refunded prior to sales-end date. Refunds can be requested through Brown Paper Tickets up to 12 hours after purchase. After that grace period and before the sales-end date, refunds will be issued via a paper check from the Landis Valley Associates, less a $20 non-refundable processing fee. In that case, students can use funds already spent towards the cost of another class or receive a full refund.
