Minority Retort Presents: Irene Tu
On Friday, June 28th at 8:00pm, Minority Retort, Portland's premier stand-up comedy showcase featuring comedians of color, and Old Nicks Pub are proud to present, Irene Tu!
Irene is a Chicago-born, San Francisco-based stand-up comedian, actor, and writer. In 2017, the San Francisco Chronicle singled her out as an artist on the brink of fame, on the heels of being named one of the Bay Areas 11 Best Stand Up Comedians (SFist) and one of 20 Women to Watch (KQED). She has performed at numerous festivals including SF Sketchfest, Clusterfest, RIOT LA, Bridgetown Comedy Festival, and Outside Lands. Irene has opened for comedians such as Patton Oswalt, Anthony Jeselnik, W. Kamau Bell, Brian Posehn, Gary Gulman, Judah Friedlander, Kyle Mooney, Hari Kondabolu, and Aparna Nancherla. Joining Irene on the lineup will be guest co-host D Martin Austin (Portland Mercury, Portland Queer Comedy Festival), Minority Retort favorite James Bosquez and Eugenes Randy Mendez!
Minority Retort is hosted and produced by Jason Lamb (XRAYFM radio, Portland Podcast Festival) and Julia Ramos (All Jane Comedy Festival).

Hosted and produced by Jason Lamb (XRAYFM radio, Portland Podcast Festival), Julia Ramos (All Jane Comedy Festival) and some of the finest comedic talent in the NW, the shows goal is to provide comedians of color with a platform to speak their minds and share their unique perspectives, as well as reach the diverse comedy audience that exists within the so-called "whitest city in America".
National touring comedians Baron Vaughn (Netflixs Grace & Frankie), Nico Santos (NBCs Superstore), Dulce Sloan, Ahmed Bharoocha, Dino Archie, Yedoye Travis, Marcella Arguello, David Gborie and Maggie Maye have performed on the show, as well as many POC comics frequently featured in Portland's Bridgetown Comedy Festival: Curtis Cook, Bri Pruett, El Sanchez, Adam Pasi and Nathan Brannon. Minority Retort is also a part of XRAY.FM radios morning show Fridays at 8:40am.
