Artist's Book Tours Spring 2019
Please join us for one of our upcoming Book Tours featuring the current show in the Sherry Grover Gallery.
The talk begins at 11 and ends around noon. When arriving, please give yourself enough time to wash and dry your hands before sitting at the table. We will be passing books around for participants to explore. The talk lasts for about one hour. Pencils for note taking will be provided.
MAY 18 & JUNE 1 Cynthia Sears, BIMA's founder, co-curator of Open Sesame and curator of work on display in the Sherry Grover Gallery, will present books new to the collection on May 18 and June 1. She recently attended Codex and found some wonderful treasures to share with us.
MAY 25 Carletta Carrington Wilson will be presenting her work in the Sherry Grover Gallery on May 25, at 11am. Carletta's 'letter to a laundress' is currently on display in BIMA's spring show, 'Open Sesame', in the Feferman Gallery. An artist working in mixed-media, Carletta often chooses a central image for her decorative frames, focusing the viewer on her subjects in a unique way. Her poetry deepens the context of the iconic images she creates.
