At the age of 8 he was discovered in a department store imitating a mannequin. While in the fifth grade, he auditioned for and was selected out of more than 5,000 hopefuls for the role of Samuel "Screech" Powers in the Disney/NBC television series Good Morning Miss Bliss. His character was carried over to NBC's television series Saved by the Bell which ran for 10 seasons. Saved by the Bell is still seen in syndication 16 times per week in 106 countries.
Dustin has appeared in numerous television shows including The Wonder Years, where he had a recurring role. He has also appeared in various music videos including the 98 Degrees video, "I Do". One of the many honors that Dustin has received in his 20 year career was recognition at NBC's 75th Anniversary Celebration.
In addition to acting and screenwriting, Dustin also tours the country as a stand-up comic in colleges and comedy clubs around North America. Dustin began touring in 2000, and is now an accomplished headliner. He has performed in some of the most reputable comedy clubs including The Improv and Caroline's.
Dustin is also an accomplished musician and songwriter. He has played the bass guitar for 16 years, and was the bass player for his band, Salty the Pocketknife. The band's self-titled debut record was released nationally in 2003.
