Kirsten Maxwell with Kate Copeland
The Firefly Lounge invites you to an evening with two of America's most promising up-and-coming songwriters: Nashville-based Kirsten Maxwell and L.A.'s Kate Copeland. Featuring an hour of music from each artist, this event will showcase their stellar, critically acclaimed songwriting and compositions in an intimate setting.

Kirsten Maxwell is a New York raised, Nashville based singer, songwriter, and artist. She has toured extensively over the past 4 years, playing anywhere from small folk clubs to notable venues like NYCs Cutting Room and Nashvilles Bluebird Cafe. Maxwell has also shared stages with such musical greats as Melissa Etheridge, Tanya Tucker, Karla Bonoff, and Paul Shaffer. In a review of her latest self titled EP, John Apice of No Depression writes, Her voice alone wraps itself around your earsthis is an artist still in the making and not just a singer.
I once saw Kirsten Maxwell take the stage in a raucous bar. The patrons were there to drink, not listen. She began a delicate ballad, and by the third line, she had them in the palm of her hand. Kirsten is a strikingly special performer. -Paul Shaffer

Kate Copeland is an award-winning singer/songwriter composer/arranger based out of Los Angeles. A graduate of Oberlin Conservatory's composition program, she has worked in the studio with a variety of artists in addition to putting out her own music. Some recent production credits include General Mojo's "How Hollow A Heart" EP (2016), Mike O'Malley's "Growlers" EP (2016), and DOUGMORE's debut album "Outorboros" (2017). She released her first solo album, "recollection room," in June 2015, and her follow-up EP "Red and Blue" in May 2016. She has plans to record her next project in June 2019. ASCAP declared her 2016's winner of the prestigious Robert Allen Award for songwriting.
