Benefit Concert with Ben Arnold + Instrument Petting Zoo
Support local art and artists in Media and Delaware County by enjoying an evening of live music and libations at the Mansion Parlor Room.
Got kids? Join us for an "Instrument Petting Zoo" presented by Keep Music Alive from 4:30 to 6:30 PM, where your little ones can try out different instruments including guitar, ukulele, keyboard, and dozens of different percussion instruments. The petting zoo is FREE with a ticket to the concert. Cant make the concert? It's just $5/family without a concert ticket (available at the door only).
This benefit concert features local talent Ben Arnold, Brian Kors, and Will Paynter.
Proceeds support the Media Arts Council, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to support local artists and integrate a wide range of arts into the life of our entire community.
Ben Arnold has toured throughout the United States and Europe with various line-ups both solo and with his rollicking live band. He has shared a stage with everyone from Ryan Adams, David Gray, Ben Folds, and Lucinda Williams to Ron Sexsmith, Randy Newman, Martin Sexton, David Johanson, Jackson Browne, Amos Lee and even a strangely mysterious week in Holland with Townes Van Zandt in the last year of his life. His lyrics remind you of John Hiatt and he's been told he sings a bit like Randy Newman but writes hooks like Springsteen used to do in the '80s. His songs explore strong emotions while his music draws on rock, folk, R&B and all genres in between. Ben is also a member of US Rails, which tours regularly in Europe and has released 5 of their own records to date. https://www.benarnold.com/index/
Will Paynter is a self-taught musician. His music is a sonic tapestry with threads of blues, country, folk, Latin and world rhythms. His work is a reflection of the music his parents shared with him growing up and his many years of world travel and cultural experiences as a professional soldier for 20 years serving with the famed US Army "Green Berets". The diversity of Will's music began when he was living in Central & South America, where he was completely absorbed by the many rhythms of Latin America and the Caribbean. Will has also traveled to the Far East & the South Pacific, North Africa, and the Middle East, which exposed him to a variety of world music not commonly heard in the US. After retiring from his military career, Will fused all of these influences into his own sound, "SONOMA SOUND". http://www.willpayntermusic.com/
Brian Kors has been playing music in the northeast for over a decade, and lives in Media, where he is closely involved with the local arts and music scene.
